Dressage Desperados

DD-Ribbons will be given 1st to 4th place, at Intro Level 1st to 6th place.

Divisions are separated by AA, JR/YR and Open.

For 2011 there will be again the YEAR END AWARD

and the D-AWARD - see details below.

Once a Year we have a prize-drawing for our volunteers - this will be on our September Show this year.

Additional prizes and awards will be available at certain shows and are to be announced at the show page.

How the YEAR END AWARD can be achieved

We decided to go with a point system to determine a high point average score of the year. Thus making it more fair for the riders who participate in the more difficult test 3 of the level to qualify for the DD Year End Award (YEA).

If a rider enters in the 1st or 2nd test of a level, their final score is at face value concerning the YEA.

If a rider enters the test 3 of a level, their final score is increased by 1 percentage point concerning the YEA.

Example: If rider "Jellybean" enters First level tests 1 and 2 and scores 58% in both, 58% is the amount applied to their HPA average.

If rider "Licorice" enters First level test 3 and scores 56%, the amount applied to their HPA average is 57%.

We are doing this in hopes of maintaining the fun atmosphere we have created and to continue to encourage honest sportsmanship.

AA and JR riders to be eligible for the awards. Open riders are not eligible.

The three highs scores of each rider from three different shows will count to qualify.

The winners got a white saddle blanket with the DRESSAGE DESPERADOS logo and a special Year End Award Ribbon.

The D - AWARD

The D-Award is given for the most improved horse/rider pair, selected by member-vote at the last show in November and sponsored by DEBBIE LINDLEY EQU-ATION, EQUINE THERAPY. The prize is a beautiful DD cooler blanket!

Dressage Desperados has a new Junior Rider Program

Beginning with our schooling show on October 16, 2011, we will be giving a prize at each of our shows to the Junior Rider with the highest score for the day. We will also be giving a year-end high point award to the Junior Rider with the highest qualifying score for the year. Normally, a rider must ride in three of the four shows we conduct in a year in order to qualify, but because we had to cancel one of our shows in 2011 due to the EHV-1 outbreak and another because of loss of our venue, for 2011 the Junior Riders need only ride in two of our shows to qualify. Otherwise, the same rules that apply to all year end awards will apply to the Junior Riders Program as well.
